FH ST. PÖLTEN PROJECT

Meridan is a student-built travel intelligence project.

Created for the Medialab at FH St. Pölten, Meridan explores how a mobile-first platform can help travellers understand visa legality, geopolitical context, and localized safety risks before they commit to a journey.

PRODUCT VISION

Empower every traveller to navigate the world with certainty, safety, and transparency.

The project started from a simple observation in the requirements work: booking travel has become easy, but understanding whether a journey is legally and personally safe can still be fragmented and stressful.

Meridan centralizes travel intelligence into one interface. The team focuses on practical traveller needs: creating journeys, adding start locations, layovers and destinations, managing passport information, and displaying visa, safety, and localized legal information clearly.

PROJECT FOCUS

A learning project with a real product problem.

The requirements define Meridan as a platform for centralizing travel intelligence and simplifying regulatory compliance. That gives the team a concrete product challenge: turn complex visa and risk information into flows that travellers can actually complete.

Success is measured through usability and reliability goals, including task completion, ease of use, accessibility, user satisfaction, and low error rates during testing.

Must-have flows
Create journeys, add layovers and destinations, and show travel information.
Traveller context
Passport management and multi-traveller support guide personalized checks.
Quality goals
The project targets accessible, tested, stable, and GDPR-aware functionality.
